Strandfall Will Debut September 5th

·

The first run of Strandfall is taking place Saturday September 5th, 2026 in Edinburgh at Cammo Estate park!

Signing Up

Our sign-up form will available in the coming weeks. You can be notified exactly when by subscribing to updates at the end of this post.

Places will be extremely limited. We expect to host 20 to 30 players and we’ve already had strong interest both locally and internationally.

When you sign up, we’ll ask some questions including where you’re travelling from, what’s your experience with larp, your access needs (e.g. vision, mobility, hearing, facilities requirements, etc.), and more. That’s because we’ll be allocating some places to locals and academics, some to people travelling from further away, some for players who are experienced larpers, and some for complete beginners.

Though Strandfall is an orienteering-style larp, around a third of players will not be expected to walk or run at all during the game itself. As such, we have a budget to assist players with mobility needs.

Players must be aged 18 or over to participate.

We hope there’ll be more performances in the future, so don’t panic if you miss out on a space.

Time and Location

Strandfall will take place in the early afternoon. We’ll begin with a mandatory onboarding workshop lasting 1-2 hours, then the game itself will be 3 hours, followed by a short debrief.

We will have a gazebo at our “base” but otherwise there will be no dedicated shelter. Strandfall will go ahead even in rain, but we may cancel the larp if the weather is very poor or dangerous.

Cammo Estate is a local nature reserve with woodlands, glades, grassland, and ruins. While we have permission from Edinburgh Council to run Strandfall in the park, other parkgoers will be around and players must keep to paths and leave no trace.

There is very limited parking locally so we encourage everyone to take public transport where possible – Cammo Estate is only 35 minutes from central Edinburgh by bus. The area is also fairly well-served by taxis and Uber.

Cost

There is no cost to participate. No costumes will be required. We will recommend, but not require, certain clothes suitable for outdoor play.

We will have limited snacks and drinks but no meals, so players should bring their own food and drinks.
